Office of Tribal Citizenship (OTC) Clerk

Rate: $13 – $15 an hour
Schedule: 20 – 28 hours/week
Duration: Seasonal/Temporary
Begin: Monday, May 28, 2018

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The OTC Clerk will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing all applications for citizenship with the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage, organize, and supervise citizenship files, citizenship applications, and associated paperwork/files;
  • Review genealogical charts and records;
  • Supervise and lead OTC clerks;
  • Conduct informational meetings with prospective applicants;
  • Filing, photocopying, faxing, e-mailing, and entering data, answering telephone and in-person inquiries;
  • Plan, coordinate, and carry out all of the day-to-day administrative support and clerical activities which are required to accomplish the work of the OTC; and
  • Other tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •  B.A.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Indoors
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be professional and punctual
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player and be able to work independently
  • Proficient using Word, Excel and email applications
  • Great organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good clerical, bookkeeping, and data entry skills
  • Flexible; ability to adapt to interruptions
