Hosted by our Education and Cultural Learning Department

Smiles lit up at this year’s annual acorn gathering and processing event hosted at William S. Hart Park. Our native California oak trees provided more than enough golden brown acorns to make this a fun filled day of learning and culture. Youth and people of all ages, gathered, processed and planted acorns together, creating long lasting memories and traditions they can share for generations.

Natural History Museum Los Angeles County and our non-profit Pukúu Cultural Community Services we were able to provide take-home acorn bread making kits for all our families and some other goodies. We welcomed the local tribal visitors to this event, creating lasting connections between our neighboring tribes and families.
