On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians presented its flag to Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.

Earlier this week, the Tribe passed a resolution in support of the City of Los Angeles’ recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day in place of Columbus Day.

The flag will join other Nations at the Indigenous Peoples Day celebration on October 8, 2018, at Los Angeles City Hall. To read more about the celebration, click here.
