On Friday, February 21, 2020, the Tribe provided a blessing for the opening of the Hidden Creeks Park in the Chatsworth Hills. The 257-acre park is located above the 118 freeway at DeSoto Avenue, on lands traditionally called sesevenga. This newly established park area is located on the land that was planned for development through the “Hidden Creeks Estates” Project.
The distinct community of the present-day Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians (Band) originated in the lineages, villages and culture of the pre-Mission period. The Band is an independent nation, exercising its inherent sovereign authority over its tribal citizens and territory.
